catching up... World, World Action, Lyrical

Post by didger » Tue Sep 22, 2009 3:43 pm

I've been too busy for the forum for a bit, so here's my recent tracks that made it past step one.Lyrical Theme Composers:These were on P2P. Thanks much for the help on the first one!http://www.taximusic.com/stream/260142/ ... 3.mp3World Action Composers (but drama was in the listing too!):This one has been forwarded a few times already, but passed over for deals other people have gotten. Poor me. http://www.taximusic.com/stream/252919/ ... .mp3Thanks to all who gave me feedback, the next one was shortened and sped up. It was rejected for the other world music listing though due to "Recording" which I don't understand.http://www.taximusic.com/stream/253811/ ... esert.mp3I was cheeky on this one and put together two very different short world music cues from movies I'm working on, so there's a Chinese/orchestral thing and an African/orchestral thing in there.http://www.taximusic.com/stream/256281/ ... e.mp3World Music:Same one from above...http://www.taximusic.com/stream/252919/ ... edidj.mp3A bit of didjeridu that's been up here before...http://www.taximusic.com/stream/238473/ ... 20Day.mp3A fusion koto/didjeridu/tablas piece that's been up here before...http://www.taximusic.com/stream/236468/ ... shi.mp3And some old koto favorites from 1998!http://www.taximusic.com/stream/236518/ ... %20Ji.mp3I never posted my "Serious Instrumental Composers" forwards either, but since other people have already gotten that deal and I didn't, we'll just ignore that one, shall we? (okay, two of them are above anyway)A good evening to all! Back to the studio with me...

Congrats Randin!! Way to go. You're cranking them out!I got a couple of returns with "recording" marked as well. Since it's the abbreviated critique, I'm thinking it's a catch-all that's trying to cover a number of things. The pieces I was returned on for the composer listing with "recording" marked are already in libraries, so I don't worry too much about it. When they were asking about adding a mini critique on the yes/no listings, I didn't advocate for it. I'd rather have a definitive yes or no than a potentially confusing too small list of criteria. Besides, a clear yes or no is more like the real world anyway.Sorry to veer. You do excellent stuff, keep up the great work!!Mazz

Thanks all. Yeah, it looks like a lot of forwards when I put'em all together, but I didn't list all the returns I had, too! That'd be an even more impressive list. And yep Mazz, I've never found those little checkboxes helpful. You'd think "recording" would be easy to understand, though. Normally I find the "music" checkbox particularly uninstructive.Same thing for me on a returned piece on the lyrical themes composer listing. You know the one - I thought it was going to be returned for not having the specific instrumentation in the listing, but I see others were forwarded that didn't as well. Mine was returned for not being expressive enough. But it was the only one of the three that was accepted by the other very high end client I sent these to. You never know!
