childrens music?

Post by gitarrero » Thu Nov 15, 2007 12:48 am

heya,..quick question: does this track:http://www.martytone.com/bibliothek/tem ... p3...match this listing:****A range of great CHILDREN'S MUSIC INSTRUMENTALS (no vocals) are needed by a U.K.-based Music Library/Publishing Co. for TV placement. This company ran numerous TAXI listings in 2006 (and signed many TAXI songs) and is now in need of more great material as their service has become very much in demand. Style-wise, they are seeking many different moods, from fast-paced fun songs to slow and sleepy songs. They don't want tracks that sound like they were obviously MIDI generated -- authenticity and great performances are the keys. Both instrumentals with lead melody lines and basic backing tracks that serve as "soundbeds" are OK -- they want both. All tempos are OK. Track length should be in the 1:00 -- 3:00 range. At this point they work mostly with prominent U.K. TV channels such as the BBC and ITV, but also supply music to other production companies that broadcast worldwide. They offer non-exclusive, 50/50 deals. Broadcast quality needed [great sounding home recordings are OK]. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Jan. 2, 2008.TAXI # S080102CH *****??please let me know your thoughts, thanks!martin

Hey Martin,On the first listen, this song does not strike me as a children's song either. It seems like there are two paths to take. 1. Happy, Fun, Upbeat songs that will make kids laugh and keep their attention2. Sleepy lullaby music that will put them to sleepThey also mention that they don't want their tracks to "sound like they were obviously MIDI generated". I guess they want "real" sounding instruments. (I don't think i could get my bass to make those sounds if it drank a 2 liter bottle of Pepsi! )A quality track (as always) but off the listing (IMO)Rob

Hey Martin,Cool track, but yeah, not kids. Very rarely will you hear something "kids" in a minor key. Generally, everything is major. I've done kids songs in the past that start minor, for a "creepy" feeling, but even then the chorus is major and happy happy happy!
