chillout and trip hop yay

Post by silvercord » Mon Jan 19, 2009 5:47 pm

its a bright morning in Seoul and the weather outside is great..with the sunshine, i woke up to 2 forwards from a listing i expected i wouldn't get a fwd from since i submitted the sametunes to another trip hop listing at the same time...TRIP HOP/CHILLOUT SONGS WITH VOCALS in the range of Portishead, Thievery Corporation, Lamb, Sia, Goldfrapp, Massive Attack, Tricky, etc. are wanted by an East Coast Music Library/Publisher for the purpose of Film/TV placements and licensing. This company has signed and placed dozen of TAXI songs, and offers a non-exclusive deal. Songs that have universal lyrics which are general enough to apply to many different scenarios/scenes/plots/etc. will take priority. Excellent performances will be necessary and male or female vocals will be considered. Songs MUST be recorded at Broadcast Quality (excellent home recordings should be okay). Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received by December 22, 2008. TAXI #S081222ELthe two forwards areBoracay (dreampop remix instrumental)andFeast of me (vocal version) (which i edited just in time without actually knowing heh)they are here: www.taxi.com/silvercordim really shocked that "feast" got in due to the hardbut true feedback i received for the song on the last review...butthis screener wrote: "This is a beautiful piece! I can appreciate the intricate harmonies and overall vocal production for this tune! This song simply draws the listener in as the instrumentation carefully drives this catchy tune into the memory banks. I can't stop singing the melody! It is a pleasure forwarding this piece. Way to deliver"wow. thats the highest i've ever been praised by a screener!thanks #254!

Good stuff Geoff. Congrats on the forward......Feast of Me is really cool. It sounds like a kind of subtle oriental thing going on in the background somehow. Great ideas.Boracay, I've heard before, but it had vocals on it last time......Again great stuff.....As far as screeners comments go...yea I have had similar things happen..one screener says wow this is great then the next screener says bahhh!!!! I guess we can't please all the screeners all the time.... Hope you're getting the call with this....Derek

Hey thanks Derek and Jeff!and thanks for your comment on the facebook(that was youright, Derek? about Clint Mansell?)you have giving me an idea about a possible video for this song~you mentioned it had an 'eastern' feel to it,maybe its that saw synth line during the chorus...im not surebut i trust n' respect your ears..actually the song is kind of dark...its kind of a comic book-stylecomparison between the whole vampiric seduction lore andobsession with sex thing, but its not something i justwant to blurt out...and hope that people kind of get whati mean when they hear the song...so i can see some kind of Geisha/vampiric animation thing goingon!..ohh im excited now~ i have to find someone that can help me make this video!
