Classification and critique humbly requested...
Hello,I'm brand new here as of this first sentence I'm typing.I play with a band called The Critical Darlings based in Athens, GA and we've got this new track called "An Uncertain Flight" that we can't quite genre-fy (I.E., What the heck is this thing?). I'm hoping that some of you would be so kind as to give the track a listen and let us know what you think. We recorded this last week with David Barbe (R.E.M., Drive-By Truckers, Sugar, etc) and even had Brad Morgan from Drive-By Truckers play drums. It's something new for all of us as we're generally more straight ahead rock. It would be great to know if we're on to something cool or just making a detour. It's the first track on our artist page at:http://www.taxi.com/criticaldarlingsThanks in advance for your time and I look forward to being an active part of this board! Thanks so much. Here are the lyrics:An Uncertain FlightI'm in a plane and I'm looking downAt the shadows clouds cast on the groundAnd I see as the wind will blowHow darkness goesLooking at myself in glass I seeThe same things that I've always seenThough it's changing I can't relateIs it too late?So I ride across the sky on an uncertain flightAnd I never wonder why I do the things I have to do'Cause I know it.It's always true. It's for you.Looking back I can't believe what I've seenLooking forward I can't see through the steamOf things to come from all that's pastIt won't last. It won't last.So who's the victor and who's the fool?I don't know. Do you?I don't think you do and neither do IBut that's alright. That's alright. So I ride across the sky on an uncertain flightAnd I never wonder why I do the things I have to do'Cause I know it.It's always true. It's for you.Cmyspace.com/criticaldarlingswww.criticaldarlings.comsonicbids.com/criticaldarlingstaxi.com/criticaldarlings
