Re: COMMENTS PLEASE-A welshman writing a country t
Hi all, Well, I've finally managed to rework the song, and it is now completely different, but I think I prefer it!It would be great to have your feedback. The original version can still be heard at the old link, but the new version of Again and Again can be heard on my Taxi profile.Cheers everyone,Tim

Wow. Goosebump moment. This is a song an artist wants to sing. There are a few small mix issues and some synthy sounds in the outro; a song of this caliber deserves real fiddles, IMO-if it were me singin' I'd re-record it, but I think this has hit potential, regardless of genre, (and that's how they like 'em, nowadays) the last chorus is a real knockout punch. Now the less good news; there are still a few lapses of prosody and phrasing and a pitchy moment or two, and while you have the hook in the title, I'm not sure I could guess the title from a single listen. In fact I think you might want to call this "Second Chances"; I think the line is stronger, and it's the most memorable part of the song, in this version. Lyrics could be tweaked a bit here and there for flow ("definitely" is jes' too dang many syllables) and a few more internal rhymes. "Caroline" is a better fit than "California", for instance. I still think "This time you'll see" should be the first line, maybe even spoken or a capella, through "I'll start tonight" before the rhythm picks up-might necessitate a minor cut with the length at 3:30 already, maybe not, songs are longer these days. Post lyrics, please?

Yet again, a great comment, thank you so much. You helped me so much last time. The lyrics are posted below. Could you also let me know where you hear the pitchy moments? I struggle with the mixing process, as I use an online service, they are good, but it's hard to make ammendments sometimes. I know I need to learn! Again & againVerseEven after all these years, the smallest of things makes me think about us,They said we were young, but it was definitely love,Everything was going right, then your Daddy got a job in California,You packed up your life, about to walk out of mine, I should have asked you to stay or put up a fight,Words don’t matter right now, I never should have let you go anyway, or anyhow,ChorusSecond chances don’t always come around,You just gotta take them when you can,If you were here right now, I’d want you…Again & again,VerseI couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw you walk in to the bar tonight,There’s so much I wanna say, but I’m tongue tied,They say that money talks, so I put another dime in the jukebox baby,It plays our song, you turn around, I see the look in you’re your eye, so I take your hand,Words don’t matter right now, it’s all about the way you hold me as we dance,Oh, as we dance,ChorusSecond chances don’t always come around,You just gotta take them when you can,Now that you’re here with me, I want you,Again & again,MidAgain & again,Again & again,This time you’ll see,I’ll do things right,Swallow my pride,I’ll start tonight,Baby please…ChorusSecond chances don’t always come around,You just gotta take them when you can,Now that you’re here with me, I want you,Again & again,Many thanks again.Tim

Wales Rocks! I think it pulls off country very well, though I am no expert on country.I do think (at least on my computer setup) that the vocal is a bit buried and hard to hear...just slightly muffled. But I probably have the worst production ear in the forums, so take it with a grain of salt.Nice job,Q

Thanks for your comment Q!I've definitely found that it really does depend on which speakers you listen to it on. On the majority of the ones I've tried, the vocals do sit about right, but it won't be like that for everyone. Thanks again,Tim
