Confused

I submitted to the Swampy Southern Rock Instrumentals listing. I guess I took "Rock" too literally. The review was:

The track itself would have worked without the drums. this listing is looking to keep the instrumentation to "backwoods instrumentation" - that is, acoustic guitars, banjos, dobros, mandolins, etc.

The track was primarily acoustic guitar and dobro. But in this listing it clearly says "southern Rock." Rock, to me, indicates drums. Maybe I should've submitted two mixes, but who knew?

Here's the track if anyone want to check it out.

Hi Casey,

Sorry about that! Here's the listing:

SWAMPY SOUTHERN ROCK INSTRUMENTALS are needed by an Independent Music Library pitching to a variety of Popular TV shows. Strap on your overalls and give them down and dirty Instrumental Tracks that have a Southern Rock, or swampy Blues inspired sound, with a slight Contemporary Rock twist. All tempos will be considered as long as the tone, texture, and mood of the tracks provide the swampy feel they need. Your tracks should be authentic sounding, with backwoods instrumentation like banjos, harmonicas, Dobros, acoustic guitars, fiddles, etc. They'll listen to basic guitar/fiddle tracks or tracks with a fuller compliment of instruments! Tracks that have easy edit points and buttoned endings (not fades). This Company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE 50/50 deal. You'll keep 100% of your Writer's share, and the Library will get 100% of the Publishing. The Company splits sync fees 50/50 with you. You must own or control 100% of your Master and Copyright. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). Please submit one to three Instrumental Tracks online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than Wednesday, April 9, 2014. TAXI #Y140409SI

I think what the reviewer was trying to say is that the drums weren't authentic to what they were looking for.

Actually they sound a little "late" like they are a bit too far behind the beat. And the choice of drum rhythm and patch didn't fit everything else.

But it's a valiant effort and Soooo close to the listing requirements. Revisit the drums on this song and/or do it without the drums and make the other instruments a little less dense. Then you've got one (or two) in your pocket for the next swamp listing.
