Contacting companies after a forward
Here's a question for you Taxi veterans here:
Do any of you contact the companies that your tracks have been forwarded to before you hear from them? I've just had an epiphany that maybe I should ping them after a forward. Thoughts?
Cheers,
Wes

Hi Wes,
Check out what's going on in the General Hangout section. Big issue right now.

Huge Mistake Wes. Don't contact them. They have to contact you. There is a huge thread about this started by Micheal (Owner of Taxi) about this very subject.

My advice is to just enjoy the forward and forget about it. It may not seem like it now, but getting into libraries isn't as hard as it sounds. There are some that are very exclusive and they take time and patience and contacts, like Taxi, but once the ball starts rolling it will roll fast. So let your forwards disappear and if they want it, let them contact you.
Soon enough you won't have enough music to supply the libraries you'll be working with and will be concentrating on writing for them. So keep writing. When it starts to happen, it moves pretty fast.

Had no idea - thanks for the tip, Bryan. I'm not worried about the libraries. Most of my forwards have been for the listings looking for composers but I'm going to dig into that article from ML. Thanks again, brother.

Holy crap Bryan, was that article just written today?? Amazing if that's true. Saw the dates on there and they are from today, but there's been so much going on in the forum transition that it's hard to know if that's accurate.
Needless to say, I hadn't thought about it from ML's perspective before now - I'll never contact anyone then. Thanks again!

Yeah Mark, I'm reading it now - pretty intense discussion already! I must be on the Taxi brain wavelength!markmeilander wrote:Hi Wes,
