Cool discovery in Kontakt
I know most of you Kontakt users will probably already know this, but I just discovered something cool, and wanted to share with those who may not already know:I was playing around with some new sounds, and decided to experiment with Kontakt's electric guitar samples. I don't often use guitar samples, because I have a hard time playing them in a way that's authentic. The way I play the samples, it ends up sounding more like a harpsichord or clavinet or something. So, I tend to either hire my guitar-player friend, or figure out a way to orchestrate the piece without guitar.Anyway, as I was playing around, I noticed that not all notes will sound together. For instance, if I hit D4 and F4 together, only one note will sound. But, if I hit E4 and G4 together, they both play. I think that's just like a real guitar isn't it? So, bottom line, Kontakt has made their guitar samples as idiot-proof as they can for us non-guitar-playing keyboard players! Pretty cool, I think. Not that that will magically make all my guitar parts authentic-sounding from now on, but at least I won't ignorantly play two notes together than are impossible to play on a real guitar.Just made the discover, and thought I'd pass that bit of info on...
