in today's environment, it might be better not copyrighting, that might encourage someone to steal your work, and then you could sue, settle out of court and make more money than you might have made through traditional means. Even if you have to go to court and never collect, it might still be a good promo. I say that tongue-in-cheek, but I believe something similiar occured when a movie was illegally downloaded by many.
