Could I get a few critiques please?
Would some of you kind folks give this song a listen, and give an opinion?http://www.taximusic.com/stream/201569/ ... 0You.mp3It was returned for the following listing:VOCAL JAZZ SONGS in the full range of Dianna Krall, Cassandra Wilson, Curtis Stigers, etc. are wanted by an East Coast Music Library/Publisher for the purpose of Film/TV placements and licensing. This company has signed and placed dozen of TAXI songs. Songs that have universal lyrics which are general enough to apply to many different scenarios/scenes/plots/etc. will take priority. No instrumentals please, songs must have vocals! Excellent performances will be necessary and male or female vocals will be considered. Songs MUST be recorded at Broadcast Quality (excellent home recordings should be okay). Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. For ground submissions, please enclose a S.A.S.E. if you would like a response. As always, we will notify everyone via e-mail, whether your submissions have been Forwarded or Returned. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Noon (PST) on Monday January 19, 2009. TAXI #D090119JZ

Ok, this is waaaay out of my genre comfort zone, but . . . The only thing that jumps out at me is that maybe the realism or choice of some of the backing track instrumentation is a problem . . . but this is only a guess. I think if I were you I would have stuck with the guitar for the adlibs & backing - I thought the new yes/no listings were supposed to have a check box or something with a brief explanation of a return . . . ?

dgnats,Will agree with billg on the instrumentation.........seems the "listening" was looking for a focus on vocals and it seems the use of all the different instruments were taking it away from the vocals........just the use of the background vocals(vocals being the focus point) would have been the way to go.....Regards,Dickps: song had a nice groove to it. Liked the lead vocals voice.
