Hey CK-- congratulations!! I absolutely can hear this one being a hit-- what a great chorus, with a great catchy phrase in "get me". Needless to say, I think you "got it". This one is really awesome! I don't often hear good demo's, and this is a great one. Great work, CK!!! I'm already hoping to hear this in full production by a leading artist one day in the not-so-distant future!! Raags

That's a REALLY good song! I don't know about the first line, I think the sun-shine line is clearer and more logical, but it almost seems a bit pretentious to call yourself "the sun" (no offense hehee). Although it kind of connects with the planet line...On the other hand the road-sign line is a bit more far fetched because the road really doesn't need a sign.Maybe there's a third option?Other than that the chorus is flawless IMHO. The payoff in the end with the "got me get me" is genius! It's possible the verses could be tightened up some, would have to see the lyrics for that.I would probably have this custom critiqued. It's worth it cause the concept is so strong you really "got" something here I think. So it's worth to have it picked apart by a few experts and see if there's anything that could be tightened up lyrically and musically. Then I would probably do a pro demo just because that's what your competition is doing and with a song this strong you want to give yourself every advantage possible. This is REALLY good, major congratulations to you. I'm very impressed! matto

CK, my friend...I think Matt has some good points, and I'd encourage you to follow through on them. This is SUCH a smart, funny, touching, personal, UNIVERSAL tune...spend the extra $20-40 for the expert ears and take this to the Billboard top 20. Can't wait to hear more good news about this one.Congrats, kiddo.Ted

Wow. You all knock my socks off. Thanks for the encouragement. I've got to be honest and say I have never written anything nearly so commercial. When I was a young rocker I would have laughed at this, pronounced it drivel, been embarrassed by it. Now I have a whole lot more respect for how tough mainstream lyric-writing can be. Matto, here are the lyrics:You Get Me© 2007 by CK BarlowV1I tend to yell and cuss when I watch TV[or "fuss" for younger artist]I dance around the kitchen when I cookI make up silly songs and sing way off keyI got more character than HollywoodPCYou just flash that smilethat makes me think I've founda man that's from my planetCHIf I'm the sun, you're my shineYou Get MeIf I'm a word, you're my rhymeYou Get MeCan't be no doubt in your mindthat you've got me,because You Get Me.V2You do your Elvis bit when I get crankyYou get my jokes when no one else will laughYou know just when to put your arms around meAnd when to take a couple big steps backPCNow I understandcrazy as I amyou're just as crazy 'bout meCHBridgeBaby when we touchand our lips just brushwhat a dizzy rush --That's when you really get meCHclosing CHI'm so amazed every timeYou Get MeYou read between my linesYou Get MeGet to my heart and you'll findthat you've got mebecause you get me.

HEY CKB!Took a listen. This is very catchy! As others have mentioned, I hear alot of ideas behind this. This, IMO, has cool edgy rock tune written all over it, from what I can hear, and envision musically. I just recently did that very thing (recorded additional instruments) for another member who had a country tune with just acoustic guitar & vocs. I don't normally do country, but the song had a good feel and was well written, just like yours, and I heard all kinds of ideas goin' on there. So I asked if I could do that for them (just for fun, no strings) and they were cool with it. Turned out pretty good according to them. BTW, I almost forgot, CONGRATULATIONS on your forward! Very nicely done! Honestly, this is the kinda' stuff that'll get ya' noticed, and get ya' forwards, for sure, I think. Now all ya' gotta' do is crank out several more tunes like this, and man, there's no tellin' what might happen! Do yo thang Miss Lady!! I-468

Hey CK,congratulation - this is one of the best songs I've heard for a while on this forum.IMO for the writing part there is nothing missing here. Somehow it reminds me of Sheryl Crow at the beginning of her solo career. The voc/git demo is a kinda draft but as soon as an arranger/producer will add more colors, I'm sure this track will show his full hit potential.Keep us updated, I know this one will find a home.Best wishes, Andy
