Cracks In My Heart

Post by RobertCanary » Tue Nov 20, 2012 9:28 am

This is one I submitted for a listing that was looking for "vocalist" songs in the style of Charlette Church and Josh Groban. I have Groban's first two albums and I could hear him singing this so..heck..you never know!

Rob,

I really like this song. Unfortunately there are some pretty serious production problems, possibly the worst of which is some very pitchy vocals. I can't see this getting past the Taxi screeners because of that for sure.

But the vocalist has a very nice sound. If you send me the stems I'll Melodyne the vocal track, and see if I can get rid of some of the hiss and clipping. PM me if you're interested.

I'm not sure what a stem is but yes...I would appreciate that...

Rob,

Stems are the individual tracks in your DAW outputted to individual audio files. My DAW (Presonus Studio One) actually has an option do output the stems. The result is a WAV file for each track in the song.

But it might be easier to just give me 2 tracks. One of the entire song minus the vocals (just mute the vocal track), and the other one the vocals. If there's any chance you can keep the volume down on the vocal track enough to get rid of the clipping that would be great. If the clipping is in the original recording that won't work of course, but if it's clipping because you have the track volume too high, then it will help to turn it down for the output file you send me.

And I only need the vocal track to be a WAV file. You can send the instrumental track in an MP3 format, but preferable a fairly high bit-rate.

Let me know if I'm making sense. When you're ready to send stuff I'll PM you my email address.

Ahh...yes I see what you are saying. That should be easy to do. My email is Scorpianram@aol.com. If you send me a message I will use that to send you the two files. Instrumental MP3 and Vocal wav...
