By the way, the Screeners here at TAXI listen to our Music through Headphones, ... does it make a difference ?

This is an interesting question, because what we hear with :
Our Monitors, and with our Headphones, and in our Computers at iTunes or YouTube, and CD Baby etc, ...and in our Digital Radios and in our TVs, and in our iPods, and in our Cars, and in our Shopping Males, and in our ... Cinemas !

All this sound different each time, or doesn't it ?

I know that I compose Music with Headphones, (respecting my Neighbours peace, especially that I am a Night Owl), and next when the Music reaches iTune, and I listen to it at a lower level ... it always sounds different.

And I will never know which tool exactly my Listeners will use, in order to appreciate or not appreciate !

For instance, some people have portable Computers, and they have to add Speakers to their Computers when they listen to Music on line ... etc.
So it affects the quality of the Sound, more or less.

I agree with the comments about timing. I agree with the comments that the style you are going for is there. Instruments seem OK pretty much. Vocal timing is where things get a bit dicey here I think. You have a lot of vocal tracks in unison also, essentially doublings in many cases. When those don't line up with their counterparts it makes it sound "off." Of course you have to make sure the first tracks are timed well as a foundation. Everything is a learning experience so just keep at it, taking suggestions to heart or with a grain of salt as needed.

hey all.......a little late to my new TAXI forum fix,but here goes.....

EddieD,Hector,& the others who gave not just a feedback but one hell of a corrective action get the top apples(everyone who chimed in,changes were made as far as i could without getting outside that +/- envelope & still be within the overall copyrighted sound)....worked for 3 hours & implemented the muddier/up on mids/in with slap back reverb on BOTH lead & backing vox.....wallah...JUST 5 min ago got this TAXI family inspired remix done & posted to my reverbnation page,so go check it out & i hope ALL of you will be proud of what you did to help by being what i have not had in 30 years:caring peers,coaches,& mentors!

I know some are going to say a bit more here & there,but i think the raw,rebellious,simple spirit of my message is NOW going to be more attractive & marketable(& fun??) than it was before!

From the end of the TAXI tv show on Wednesday to now, it has been an UNBELIEVABLE week of the most unexpected things to positively hit me & every small yehaw is better than now yehaw at all!

The biggest was late Wednesday night when the very unexpected support of 10-15 Paul Revere & The Raiders fans who said they found my Never Surrender release & wanted to hear more...they also sent me these Youtube links,which,when combined with the wonderful peer to peer support,.......quite LITERALLY lit a fire under my a___ & when you watch these vids & listen to the final remix,you will see why i can get excited sometimes!

After watching these vids,i just sat there,jaw dropped to the floor, and thought...".S___T! THAT was the missing element i needed to fix things...right under my nose!!!"

I never forgot that i love The Raiders music,but i haven't thought about it in quite a awhile either,& i remember hearing it when a tot in 1972(Just Like Me & Little Willy by The Sweet are the earliest song memories).

***So TAXI family,voting time,+ or -1,it's up to YOU: do you think the Paul Revere music/wackiness is what i am more like than anything else?? I sure the hell got a wake up call and think so!!

hey team hector,cass,eddied......been a busy past 6-7 days but i hope all of you got the chance to check out that vip important change that eddieD suggested (up on mids,slapback reverb) that has made my life easier from now on(i WAS advised long ago that i needed to pay more attention to the mids on my vox,but nooooooooo......i want to go too crispy!!

ANNNYYYYWAAAYYYY...........i also just re-released my 2nd single FUNKYSTUFF88 as FUNKYSTUFF88(Retro Pirate Mix),and with these slap back and mids changes......well,you'll hear some big diffs as it growls at ya now(guitar in instead of drums)....just imagine it in a rebellious pirate setting and you'll see why i called it that!

I know michael was sick for mon TAXI-TV & hope he feels better.....still.....these shows get berry berry addictive!
