CUE LENGTH

Post by deluxesound » Sat Oct 05, 2024 12:00 pm

Hey Taxi Forum, quick question on flexibility on cue length.

Writing track for POSITIVE, FEEL-GOOD HIP-HOP INSTRUMENTALS and/or INSTRUMENTAL CUES which provides range 1:30 - 2min for cues, however is there any recommended tip for cues, better it be right at 1:30 or so long as its 1:30 or a little over your good?

Thanks

If the listing calls for a RANGE between 1:30 and 2:00, then anything in there is good. Just don't go over the limit. If they are asking for exactly 1:30 or 2:00, then obviously give them what they asked for. If I'm not understanding the question, please let me know.

Appreciate it,

That's a good question. Two returns ago, I submitted to a cue that said, "Absolutely no less than 1:30." Mine was 1:40. Screener said it was too short - so now, I'm at a loss and extremely confused.

Can you post the ENTIRE listing (copy/paste not link) and the ENTIRE screener review? It's hard to say anything without all the information. That being said, there are some times when it's a good idea to contact the head screener at Taxi. He/she will look at the situation and talk to the screener. But I'd first get some feedback here.

Best,
:D Casey

Oh, I didn't want to bother Craig about it. What's another return out of two years straight of returns? Screener says: "I returned or forwarded this song because
Could be developed further, and the length needs to be longer." Brief says: "Your submissions should be around 3 minutes in length, give or take, and definitely no shorter than 2 minutes and 30 seconds."
Here's the cue that's 2:39 https://www.taxi.com/members/WUqNTAbpQL ... uirkenstan
