Dave's first network television music appearance

Post by davewalton » Tue Sep 26, 2006 2:35 pm

Hi everyone,Well, to kick things off on a positive note, a track of my music made its network television musical debut on Oprah today (Part 2 of "Oprah & Gayles Big Adventure"). Of course it was very exciting, etc, etc. In reality it totaled 20 seconds. It was used to kick off a scene and opened with music only (no dialog) for 5 seconds at regular volume, then was lowered to an almost imperceptible volume while Oprah talked about where they've been and where they're going. Then when she finished they cut in the ending chord and just that quick they were off to something else with another track (maybe Matto's). It's pretty interesting how they use music when you really pay attention. They cut new music in practically every time the camera angle changes. We're required to submit 3-minute versions as our final cuts but they don't use but maybe 30-seconds of music on any one thing. Anyway, my family (especially my wife) was very proud and pleased... that's good stuff. Dave

Good news Dave!I'm glad your family are chuffed for you.Are you turning into one of those "cool dads" that your kids aren't afraid to introduce their friends to?

Quote:Are you turning into one of those "cool dads" that your kids aren't afraid to introduce their friends to? The wife and I are fun folks so the kids like hanging around our house anyway. What you said reminds me of an episode of Overhaulin' where the guy that got his car tricked out was an auto body guy and he was real teary-eyed in thanking them for doing shows that made his job "cool" to his kids and all their friends. I'll have to admit that "hey, listen to this new track I did" gets a more entheuastic response than when I used to say "hey, look at this new software interface I just developed".
