DAW compatibility..file transfers..

Post by Tunesmith » Thu Feb 08, 2018 3:16 pm

Hi All,

I am writing with a friend who uses MOTU Digital Performer. I am using Tracktion Waveform. Is it a bear to try to move audio files back and forth? I did a search but it was a bit confusing on what file format to transfer.
None of what we are doing is MIDI..just audio..vocals guitar...

I am thinking it will just be easier for him to come over to record. But someday I would like to collaborate with someone afar..

Thanks in advance for your input/help.

Best,
Linda C

Bounce out an mp3 of your track and get him to send you an mp3 [his playing along with the track] for your approval.

When you are both happy he sends you a wav file of his performance only. Use Box,Dropbox or some other file sharing app.
Put a few clicks before the song start and get him to do the same for easier line up of the tracks.
