Indeed there are legal issues if her intent is to sell the album, even giving it away would be illegal if she uses any portion of the original recording.

Yeah, even on those MIDI files be careful. You'll still need to pay royalties to the programmer/artist who created it. Think you need a mechanical license for that. The MIDI files sites will give you more details. Here's another good site to look for that song, as well:http://www.midifarm.com/

Hey all of you, thanks for your replies and Mazz I totally agree, that is as I thought, like I say I wouldnt personally do that anyway as I write my own stuff. I will summarise these replies for her and give her the useful links that you all sent. A big thank you for those, she may find them useful.I have a show tomorrow night that I am singing and playing in so am concentrating on that at the mo but after its all over I can go back to pottering with general recording etc.Thanks again all of you, your very kind.Take care xx xx
