The question isn't really clear. Do you mean 'instant' success after joining TAXI, if so, what's the time frame? What's your definition of success? Forwards? Deals? Placements? Grammy?

5-6 months after placing a song in the market?

I'm not sure what you mean by this, either. What are you defining as "success"? And what do you mean by "market"?5-6 months after placing a song in the market?

What I truly mean is whether someone whose song was played i.e. in the radio, TV etc. was an instant huge success? Does Taxi have members belonging to that category?VanderBoegh wrote:I'm not sure what you mean by this, either. What are you defining as "success"? That is still unclear.
What are you really asking? Is it something like this?
is TAXI worth it?
Meaning.......Is your membership plus submission fee enough to get you a shot at having your song / production heard by millions when its played on TV? Especially if you live outside of a major urban center like New York or Los Angeles?
Yes - if you are writing and producing great music that reflects whats current in the marketplace and is what the industry needs.
That's from personal experience. Many on this forum can respond yes to this as well.
Will I have a major success from my song?
Meaning....will one song / production be a runaway success and make me millions of dollars and ensure that I don't have to work again?
Maybe - with about the same odds as any song / production out there in the marketplace today.
Most people whether they are a superstar writer or a typical TAXI member are going to be hard at it for a long time to make significant money - the same as a regular job - with the upside that music licensing has an element of chance and you could strike it big.
Big could be artistic recognition, or $$$ or it could be a more flexible lifestyle depending on what you are looking for.

Re: Did anyone here had an instant success after being a Taxi member?
I'll have to admit that I had "instant" success: my very first submission was forwarded, then accepted into a library, and the tune was subsequently used in a Shameless episode. The beginning of the song's journey was "instant", but the "success"-- i.e. payout-- took 3 1/2 years. So "instant" is an utterly relative and nebulous term, as is "success", per Andy, Matt, et al.
