DISCO vs SOUNDCLOUD

Post by BradleyHagen » Tue May 14, 2024 8:29 am

Just a brief poll...... How many of you are using DISCO vs SOUNDCLOUD?? I am a SOUNDCLOUD user, but am somewhat unhappy with the way that their algorithm screws with my mixes, and many folks are now saying that DISCO is now the industry standard for sync..... Is this true?? Does DISCO also use some wierd compression algorithm to mess with uploaded tracks? Anyone care to comment?? Thanks in advance

I don't use either but I understand from others that Disco is far superior and preferred by people in the biz. I have an account with box dot com which has been great, you can upload whatever kind of file you want and get easily shareable links.

Disco all the way!

Songs on SC get pirated all over the web. Disco is totally private. Disco doesn't mess up sound quality. You also can have multiple formats for the same song on there, comprehensive tagging, easy playlist generation and sharing, etc. There are a few quirks in the user interface but it's a great site. It's become the industry standard for music supervisors.

A free trial is available.

Soundcloud has a button to mark tracks "private" of course, but man.....what they do to the sound quality is just atrocious!
Thanks for chiming in!

For some reason, private links don't work on iPhones (not sure about other smart phones). I found that to be a pain in the butt. Also, unless you make a song private or pay more money, listeners are forced to listen to ads. Overall, a lot of down sides.

If you start dealing directly with sups or sync agents (and others), you'll find they prefer Disco.
