I think consulting with an entertainment lawyer (yes, the more specific the better - a music sync licensing lawyer!) to ask them for a go/no go decision and comments on a library-provided contract might be an acceptable alternative to the composer in question having first-hand knowledge on the typical library deals. The lawyer screens the contract and provides the composer with feedback on the document. Yeah, probably cost more than $5 but ideally it'd be a one-time exchange. Plus, doesn't Erin always say it's a good idea to consult an attorney with questions?
