Re: Does anybody play a Start
Hi,
I have a lot of study to do on it. I played a fender and a Gibson Bass at different times but I never used a pick very much. These comments are so great and a lot to look into. It's great talking to y'all. If anyone ever needs a Bassline laid down during the composition process don't hesitate to let me know. I'm always glad to help.
Thanks,
Alan

Re: Does anybody play a Strat
I have a Strat Plus from the mid-to-late 90's with 3 Lace sensors. The Strat Plus in the '90's was Fender's top of the line strat at the time. It doesnt get much love in the used market, because (probably) the Lace sensors gives it a little different tone than a traditional strat, so you can pick one up very reasonable used. THe Lace sensors are very quiet, and give a bit more mid range than traditional Strat pickups, IMHO. I love my Strat Plus, plus I get a lot of comments on the rather unique color (Fender put their best work into it at the time, since it was their top of the line.). Another opinion for you. Tim

Hi Nick,
that's a really cool post. I love Gibson guitars and basses. I think your Strat gives more options.

Re: Does anybody play a Start
When I as a young musician, I used to hear some guitar players with THE most amazing tone. I wondered if it was some effect pedal doing it.
Then, I played a USA Fender Strat plugged directly into a '65 Fender Twin Reverb...and the mystery was solved for me.
(I later found out that Telecaster thru the same amp is just as magical).

Re: Does anybody play a Start
Well, I play more starts than finishes ... but I'm finishing more starts these days than ever!
Seriously, I had a nice black strat years ago and gave it up to get a Les Paul, which was more useful to me at the time. I still have that Les, and I still miss that Strat ... one of these days I'm going to add a Strat and/or Tele again.

Re: Does anybody play a Start
Shouldn't the question be "Does anyone not play a Strat"?
