Quote:Yeah and that there are some companies that sell like cd's with over 4000 different drum patterns in different styles (midi) which you are right is a lot more flexible than audio loops - but I suppose in a sense when the new melodyne comes out - that won't be the case anymore?I guess that remains to be seen on the Melodyne front.MIDI is just so quick and easy and light on the computer.

Quote:it would be easy for a lazy, unethical composer to submit the unadorned song as their own."Unethical" might be a little strong; after all you've ARE using a loop library, not a commercially released track...but where do you draw the line? I'd consider this more of a legal issue than a moral one. Quote:You don't want a client to get sued because you unwittingly used an uncleared loop. That's a career killer if I've ever see one!Agreed that this will irk any client, but ideally [for the client] you've provided or signed a contract that releases them from responsibility should such a suit arise...in which case your reputation may be only half your problem. Glad to see you're still around Mazz!André

Quote:thanks...I'll work on a few more things...before I decide to use audio loops...I actually have a dream....I need to be able to control many aspects of my drums...I have a 7/4 electronica in my head...and a 6/4 hiphop Beatles song...I'll keep looking around....thanks...vtbpHi Vicky-If you're using drum loops, audio versions are just about as easy to edit to custom time signatures as midi versions (if a bit less flexible) thanks to their, ahem, "percussive" nature. I wouldn't let your specific needs steer you away from using them.André

vickytbp,Might I suggest you keep at it until you figure it out. Perhaps even see if there's anyone from the AD that you can talk to. Go to this website: http://www.xlnaudio.com/ create yourself an account, and possibly get on the forum there and contact a troubleshooter. He may be able to help you out. I managed to read some solutions for Sonar when I was having problems. Good to go now. But whatever you do, don't give up. Get whatever you need ta' get it workin'. It's probably some minor thing that's keepin' it from functioning properly, or somethin' you don't have set. Could be a number of little irritating things. Some determination, stubborness, & persistence will be required to get things workin' for ya'. Just don't give in unless someone specifically tells you "Addictive Drums won't work with Adobe Audition", in which case, you'll then have to go ta' Plan B. Good luck!I-468

Yeah VTBPI got Addictive Drums and BFD2.0 ( I much prefer BFD but that's my own choice), Addictive Drums had some really great sounds.I hope you come right with that soon!!!Take CareB

vickytbp,This is what Lars from xlnaudio said about adobe & AD:Lars XLN Audio Posted: 10 Mar 2008 20:01 Posts: 1011 Location: Stockholm - SwedenAdobe says AD works just fine in Audition, but it is not a supported host which means we do not test it (and don't know much about it). Hope you get it working! So if Adobe says it works, then I'm inclined to believe so. You may even have to get in contact with someone @ Adobe to get some answers regarding AD.I-468

Ooooo, that's a way older version I think. I don't even remember if VST's are supported in that version. I have that one as well (somewhere). This is a newer plug-in so it may not work in a version that old. You can always try though. It might just work for all I know. I-468
