Dramedy forwards!

Post by daveydad » Tue Jun 28, 2016 6:14 pm

This was a Dispatch listing. I submitted three cues... these two made it:
https://soundcloud.com/davidhollandswor ... n-identity
https://soundcloud.com/davidhollandswor ... ery-solved

Screener felt this one could have developed sooner: https://soundcloud.com/davidhollandswor ... e-in-cheek

DRAMEDY-Style INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a NON-Exclusive Production Music Library with loads of placements in reality TV. They’re chasing down Dramedy Instrumental Cues in All-Tempos that can range from silly and fun to sneaky and conniving. Submit Cues that you’d hear in popular shows like (but not limited to) Vanderpump Rules, The Real Housewives of Potomac, Leah Remini: It’s All Relative, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the following references to get a feel for what this client is searching for: Vanderpump Rules https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoOqLvgHaJ4 The Real Housewives of Potomac https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW1Pp70eI5U Leah Remini: It’s All Relative (0:30 – 1:26) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yXqOBm6fL8 Give them Instrumental Cues that convey anything from a sly, devious vibe to something that’s silly, lighthearted and comedic. Instrumentation that includes a combination of Pizzicato Strings, Vibraphone, Xylophone or any other Mallet Percussive Instruments should work well. Any genre could potentially work well for this pitch, so feel free to submit Cues that are influenced by genres like Rock, Country, Hip Hop, etc. Stick to a central melodic idea, and add dynamics and interest by weaving different elements in and out as it progresses. Please avoid submitting anything that’s too busy or frantic, as it might not work well under a scene’s dialog! All submissions should be at least 2 minutes in length. Buttoned/Stinger Endings and Easy Edit Points are encouraged for this pitch. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a general guide for feel, texture, tone, and vibe. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). This Library offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 Deal. You’ll get 50% of any applicable sync fees and 100% of the Writer’s share. The Publisher will get 50% of applicable sync fees and 100% of the Publisher’s Share. You’ll keep 100% of the original copyright. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit to this pitch. Please submit one to three Instrumental Cues online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), Friday, June 17, 2016. TAXI #D160617DA

Excellent work on these. Great job creating interest through minimal instrumentation and simple repeated patterns. Well done.
