Drum & Bass Rig / Key Rig software on Mac/Intel

Post by anne » Tue Mar 13, 2007 9:42 am

Hello - I have Drum & Bass Rig, and Key Rig by M-audio (about 1 year old). I upgraded to a MacPro (intel chips) and the software is not compatable. I checked with M-Audio and they will not be releasing an update for this software. Does anybody know of a workaround for this problem ?

If M-Audio is not upgrading the software to make it compatible with Mac / Intel, it looks to me like your only option would be to use your old mac to run this software in conjunction with your new setup. Good luck,MazzNew thoughts: Are the raw samples and loops available outside of the software? If so, they could be brought in to something like Kontakt or Reason. Some editing may have to be done to get similar results as using the M-audio software, but it's a possible work around (emphasis on the word work)

Thanks for the info - I found a workaround - I bought Stylus and Liquid grooves!FYI - Drum and Bass Rig and Keyboard Rig was a really nice little collection of samples that could be used by Logic or Garage Band (and other instruments) easily. I sold my old Mac when I bought the new Mac Pro, and in October M-audio promised an update for the intel chips by January. Now they say the manufacturer will not be doing so. Oh well - I just looked on the forum for great drum package recommendations and made my new purchase. If I do find a way to get the two "Rig" programs to be recognized by Logic I will pass it along.

Congrats on Stylus and Liquid Grooves. You won't be disappointed. This just occured to me: if Drum and Bass Rig use the Native Instruments Kompakt software then you can crossgrade to Kontakt 2 which is Intel compatible. Kontakt is also a great sampler with some nice editing features but it might be redundant if you have a sampler program already.Have fun,Mazz
