Drum Help Needed for Americana/Singer-songwriter song

Post by Mark Crozer » Wed Jan 18, 2012 2:07 pm

Hello!

I'm working on a song for the following listing:

A-List Hollywood Music Supervisor needs CONTEMPORARY SINGER-SONGWRITER SONGS in the stylistic ballpark of Rufus Wainwright, Elvis Costello, Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, Iron & Wine, Elliott Smith, Joanna Newsom, and The Tallest Man on Earth for a HIT TV Series. As always, DO NOT rip-off or copy the referenced artists in any way, shape or form. Use them ONLY as a guide for tempo, texture, and vibe. Your SONGS should be SINCERE, SWEET, ORGANIC and DOWNTEMPO. LYRIC THEMES should be about Romantic Relationships: BREAKING UP, FALLING IN LOVE, etc. AVOID specific lyrics about names and places. INSTRUMENTATION must be real, authentic and sound natural. ARRANGEMENTS should be more minimal than full or cluttered! Evoking emotion is the name of the game for this pitch!! ... Submissions must be received no later than 10am (PST) WEDNESDAY, January 25th, 2012. TAXI # Y121025SS

I would really love to have some live drums on this rather than program them. If anyone out there is interested in laying down some minimalist drums for me then PM me.

There's an acoustic demo of the song (called 'What A Fool I've Been') up on my page.

Thanks!

Mark

Hey Mark, I have someone in mind for you, the 25th might be cutting it, but who knows. He's a great drummer and works fast, and would likely work on a "pay me if you get a deal" basis... but I can't speak for him of course. Hit me up and I'll put you in touch with him.

There are some drum loop libraries (hear me out here please), that provide entire drum performances.

Therefore, in effect they are not really loops but genuine drum tracks. Some even have multi mic/track versions.

Here are some examples:

Hello I am new to taxi. Just joined a few days ago figured I would start switch reading some posts. I am a drummer keyboard player, and I guess a little guitar. If you ever need any drums tracks please feel free to let me know.
