Re: Ears Please
I'm assuming you're talking about this search:
---
ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTAL CUES in a variety of Moods, Styles, Tempos, and Ensemble sizes are needed by a great, Exclusive Music Library with an incredibly long and impressive list of TV, film, and advertising placements! They’re searching for Orchestral Cues in all varieties, so we aren’t giving references because they would be too limiting!
Please submit well-crafted Instrumental Cues that sound like an authentic Orchestra, played by real humans. Your submissions can range from a small ensemble, to a full-blown orchestra, and anything in-between, as long as the believability factor is there. Anything that’s stiff, synthetic, or MIDI-sounding won’t work for this pitch. Build your Cue around a central melodic theme that sticks to a singular mood. Add and subtract layers of Instrumentation as your Cue progresses to keep it dynamic and not too liner or repetitive sounding. Submitting pieces that sound super realistic, with a mood that’s obvious and compelling right from the beginning, could be a big help in getting forwarded for this request.
Your submissions can be dramatic, militaristic, action-oriented, melancholic, futuristic (think Inception), Classical, and just about any other genre or style within the range of what you’d expect to hear done by an orchestra and useful for TV or Film placements.
All submissions should be about 1:30 minutes in length, give or take, with non-faded/buttoned endings. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, texture and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).
This Company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal with a reversion clause. If they don’t get your music placed during a five-year period, all rights revert back to you. You’ll keep 100% of the Writer's share, 50% of any sync fees, and any applicable performance royalties. The Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher’s share and 50% of any sync fees. Since this is an EXCLUSIVE deal, please be sure any material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed to any other Libraries or Catalogs. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this. Please submit one to three Instrumentals Cues online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Sunday, September 17th, 2017. TAXI #Y170917EB

This listing is so wide open. It's exciting and terrifying all at once.
Based off of this search, I'd say you have too many synth elements happening in "The Deville Murders." Thematically speaking, it's on point, but these synths could get it kicked back.
"Sun Rise" I feel worked better, though! Nice melodic/thematic work with this. Really nice build up at 1:30. That said, I would think this cue is too long. The listing doesn't indicate time, but I always shoot for 2 mins unless indicated otherwise.

Re: Ears Please
HI Myron,
But there are alot of timing issues throughout the piece.
Also..they want authentic orchestral sounding pieces......This one sounds like a synth orchestra.
Track #2 also has some timing issues.
It is also way too long...cut it in half!
This is also another very good idea...it just needs some work.
My 2 cents worth,
Tim
