Soooo I've got another return :

The feedback from screener :
What I like most about this song
I like the emotive mood and ambient vibe.
I think you could improve this song by
Despite a subtle breakdown and additional layer during the 2nd part, the 1st and 2nd part of the cue are too repetitive. Consider adding some additional chord / note changes or additional layers, bells and whistles as the cue progresses and builds, to avoid being too repetitive.
I returned or forwarded this song because
Could have a better developmental "arc" and / or a B section.
Aaaalright so what does that really mean ? I think I did pretty much that, having layers in and out every 8 bars or so...having a clear B section...
Did the screener not hear the change/B section ? Did he/she not hear the layers coming in and out ? Or is it just because of the piano melody being used as a loop ?
Bleh...sometimes I feel like I'm being riped off here...just paid for my renewal...not feeling like an investment.

Re: Emo-Electro Pop return
Hey Mathieu,
I think you were close on this one. If I can give any advice, it would be to to try and add more dynamics as a whole. I’m pretty confident the screener heard your b section/breakdown, but dynamically the whole song didn’t tell enough of a story and stayed in a fairly similar spot the entire time.
I’d try working on some transitional elements to help push things forward, and some other elements to make the up parts bigger and the down section more dramatic in its impact.
Keep at it and don’t get discouraged! And don’t scrap the song! It’s really close imo.

Re: Emo-Electro Pop return
Thanks guys for the words. It helped and I got back in the good mood for creating

Now that I think of it, instead of just cutting the piano loop, I guess I could filter it down with a low pass filter and just make it sound far away ?
Anyway, thanks !!

Re: Emo-Electro Pop return
The clue is when you skip around the timeline of the track you can't really tell where you are , it all sounds pretty much the same apart the the more stripped out part.
Sectional contrast, every four bars is what you need. If it's too subtle nobody will notice.
