Emotionally Uplifting Rock

Post by DanLuedke » Mon Aug 17, 2015 9:16 pm

Like usual, I'm mostly looking for mix advice although all feedback is welcome.

EMOTIONALLY UPLIFTING ROCK INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a Boutique Music Library looking to beef up their catalog for multiple realty TV shows they work with. Please give them enthusiastic, Mid-to-Up Tempo Instrumental Cues that deliver an exciting feel-good vibe. Please listen to the following references to get an idea of the range of what could work for this pitch:

Note: There are some actors wearing nothing but their underwear in a couple of these videos, so you might want to make sure the kids aren’t nearby when you watch these ;-)

“The Fault in Our Stars” Trailer: (Starting at 1:40)

“Monkey Wrench” by The Foo Fighters
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKp5v588-Vs

“The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKsxPW6i3pM

Although the references have vocals, please give them only Instrumentals for this pitch. Please submit well-crafted, Uplifting Rock Instrumental Cues with catchy melodic hooks that climax into a great big, uplifting chorus that underscores the uplifting quality. Waste no time grabbing the listener’s attention from the start. This is a time to celebrate! Be sure they can feel it. You’d be wise to layer your instruments as you build toward the chorus, and then be firing on all cylinders when you get there. Guitars should likely be your primary instrument. Handclaps and foot stomps could work great for this pitch (but certainly aren’t a necessity), and if you include any whistling, please keep it tasteful and don’t overdo it. Rock out and have some fun, but don’t make your Cues so frenetic that they could get in the way of a scene’s dialog. Simple, uplifting, propulsive arrangements should work best.

Please submit Instrumental Cues at least 2 minutes in length. Easy edit points and non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings are needed for this pitch. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced tracks in any way shape of form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

Hi Dan,

it rocks man! Sweet work. Interestingly enough, a Honda Motorcycle commercial was on the TV while I was under the headphones and it worked very well. Good luck!
