All my mastering is done through Wave Lab 5, which is full of 'waves plug-ins' for all kind of requirements.

I was going to say that nobody mentioned linear phase EQ. It's the only thing you can use to get a lot of boost on some things, such as strings. The first time I heard the Waves one I was blown away.But I also like the Pultec and the Neve in the UAD-1, as well as a few others.

Those are "analog" EQs that have the expected phase shift.
