Established singer/writer/producer-great collaborating opp!

Post by chana » Wed Dec 01, 2010 2:32 am

Hi guys,
I'm connected to a major LA music library, providing songs for the most popular TV shows/films right now (including True Blood etc, tho honestly, that show is way too dark for me!)

The owner of the site has been taking time to let me know what her supers are looking for right now, so I'm looking to team up on some songs with others who fit this description, in her words:

"The supers are telling me they're looking for songs from established artists, with at least 1 to 2 CD's out, touring, have a following, a huge internet presence, and songs available for download on itunes."

I've had interest in my songs from some major industry pros, including the past president of Interscope & Geffen Music, a publisher who found Kenny Roger's last hit song (I wrote some more songs for the Kenny pitch on request from that publisher you can hear on my sites - yeah it was the same one that found Buy Me a Rose from Taxi members Eric Hickenlooper etc.), and quite a few more.

I write in quite a few genres: pop, pop/folk, contemporary country, R&B, hip hop, pop/rock, A/C & more. I really like writing songs "to order" to fit a particular artist, style etc.

I'm looking to collaborate by co-writing with others who fit what these supers are looking for. I already have a couple offers from great artists, but unfortunately they don't fit everything on the list, so please make sure you do!

I've done collabs with others & have references, I'm easy going and we all like to have fun doing new songs, so hope you're the positive up beat kind too! Male and female vocalists are welcome as I have written songs for both - look forward to hearing from some great talent!

Please leave contact info for me as well as a link to a site with some of your songs, just know I don't do songs with explicit lyrics so if that's all you do, I'm not your match for this project.

You can see my sites at www dot taxi dot com slash songrivermusic where there is a link to another site of mine. There's just a small sampling of songs there, if you don't see your style, don't worry, I have mp3's to share that could be just what you'd like!

:D Hi, wow I listened to some of your tracks and you definitely have talent! I'm really looking forward to hearing more of your music over time. I'm just being honest with you that actually in a way we're both in the same boat - it seems you do mainly tracks and need or want to team up with other artists to get complete songs, am I right?

I'm also in a similar boat, except I do the writing end and not tracks, and don't do the vocals, so I really need an artist/performer SINGER, who can help compliment what I'm doing. I'm also stuck in the parameters the lady at the library gave me - needs to be an established artist with 1-2 CD's out minimum, a HUGE internet presence (as she put it), a following, TOURING seriously and songs on i-tunes. So actually, both of us don't seem to meet all that either! I'ts not like I'm better than you! :)Though you are on your way.

BUT, your talent is obvious and I think things can open up for you more and more if you just keep going. Check out some folks I know doing cool stuff in hip hop/rap on youtube, Y-love is really cool, and did some stuff with Matisyahu, and also did some cool songs with DeScribe Keep going, you got some nice creative tracks going...thanks for responding and keep doing your positive stuff, it's great!

Chana,
Thanks for taking the time out to listen. Musically, I am nowhere where I want to be. Hopefully over time I'll be far better than I am now. Yes, you hit the nail on its head. I need artist to record songs over my tracks. Funny thing is when you wrote " - needs to be an established artist with 1-2 CD's out minimum, a HUGE internet presence (as she put it), a following, TOURING seriously and songs on i-tunes." It made me think of a conversation we had in my Music Business course. Again thanks, given more time I'll be ok.

Ill check out your guys on Youtube.

Thanks for listening, Hope to bump into you again. lol :-D

Hey Chana,

I know this isn't of much help to you at the moment, but I'm a beatmaker focusing primarily in the Urban / Pop genres...

I know some singers this side, so if we could ever bash ideas around, I could get them recorded over here in London and mixed in Miami...

My website is www.bnaglemusic.com

Thanks,

B
