Crap, I've only got like 4 hrs. into writing/tracking/& recording it and about 40hrs. into trying to mix it so it sounds "60's"! How can it be so hard to mix something that's SUPPOSED to sound sooooo simple???!!!Congrats on the forwards, Bill!! You dun good with this one! I guess you need to throw away your PC/DAW, use a 4 track with analog tape, and do any splices with a scissor. Casey

This one sounds too "bright" to me and the hats are too loud & bright but I just don't have the stomach to mess with it anymore. Everytime I change one thing it seems to make everything else sound "off". I just got a chance to listen to "Everybody Wants to Get High," albeit late, and it's top notch....the production, vocals, everything. Great job, buddy.

Bill,Congrats on the forward! They'd be foolish to pass this one by, as I said. Now the movie folks need to place it prominently and get you some juicy payments...and more work. Here's hoping there's the perfect scene in the film for this to be played over the radio, or over a montage.Yeah, I clicked again..Same thing: "Oops! Error. Broadjam will look into it..." or something like that.

Hi Bill,I truly enjoyed your song and the message. It had a cozy and vintage familiarity.Your vocal phrasing caught my attention. It was perfectly in genre, yet stayed away from being predictable. Good musical sense on your part!Even though you modeled this on the Byrds, I think you have a bit of Tom Petty in you. Have you considered this?See - I just increased the time span of this tune by twenty years!Best regards,Al

Re: Everybody Wants To Get High
Thanks Al. My big problem is that I don't really hear a lot of difference between Petty, Dylan, Byrds, etc. It all sounds so similiar to me, but you've got me thinking. If I added a Hammond organ & brought up the bass & drums this probably could work for an ala Petty listing, thanks!
