Hey Chuck - As far as your last question goes, I never wait around to hear back from a Taxi forward if I find a good home for the track in the interim. A bird in the hand and all that.

Re: Exclusive vs. Non-Exclusive
O.K. so my long winded post resulted in one (helpful!) post from eeoo. So one question only this post: if you are entertaining going exclusive with a handful of libraries, and you have several choices, how many do you take on and why them over the others?
Would not mind sharing an e-mail with anyone with some good advice but PM could work.

Re: Exclusive vs. Non-Exclusive
I always try to get as much information about the library (exclusive or non exclusive) to see what type of music they have been getting placed lately. For example; If a library has been placing a lot of Hip Hop tracks lately and I have a handful of New Age tracks, I might move on to another library. It's not an exact science by any means but it helps me to see weather I have something they can use.CHuckmott wrote:O.K. so my long winded post resulted in one (helpful!) post from eeoo. Another thing to consider is that this is a numbers game. I produce about 5 tracks a week, so I'm ok with sending individual tracks to multiple libraries. However you mileage may vary...

I guess begs the logical question, how do you research what they have been placing lately? The info they give out?

Yes. You can get a lot of that information on the web. You can also find out from other composers, or send them an email asking what they are currently working on or what they need. In either case be professional when contacting them.CHuckmott wrote:I guess begs the logical question, how do you research what they have been placing lately? The info they give out?
