Sheringo: Listened to all four of your tracks. You should thank your lady once again. I particularly liked the first track, very well done. I'd say I like your voice, but that's generally code for I didn't like the song. And that's not true. I like both, a lot. That first song could be used to enchant a lady . . . which I'm sure you already have. I've been listening to songs on this site for a year, and I rarely throw out a compliment. You're really good, keep at it. Ott

Re: Feedback for Down under please
Hi Sheringo, I've listened to Deep Well (Soul Vocals) and I'm going to respond to that first before I listen to the next one. I want to remind you that I'm an orchestral composer mostly these days and also not very knowledgable about mixing/mastering. Having said that... here goes. Overall, it's a lovely song, with a lovely feel to it. I think it's too long at 6 minutes. Songs are best kept no more than 4 minutes, obviously some exceptions. You have a very long intro and too many bars repeating inbetween sections. I think it would tighten up the song. keep the listener's interest and all flow better if you cut out those excess bars. At 2:30 you break into the instrumental - I felt it needs the piano much more up front there. The overall recording could be louder - I think it needs compression, but someone else might be able to advise you better on that. Your voice has a lovely quality, but be careful when you are singing not to start below and slide up to the note. Those are my thoughts on the first song - I hope they are hopeful to you in some way. I'll listen to the next one when I can!Georgie

Thanks Georgie,I agree with you 100%.I have been playing it in the car and listening to it as objectively as i can. I do need to cut out the last two verses (which are repeats) and this should bring the time down to about 4 minutes.I am still getting farmiliar with my Yamaha AW1600 track recorder and I will try to get more farmiliar with compression settings. It's the first recorder I have ever used and I feel like a monkey thats been given a rubics cube to assemble.Thank you so much for the feed back I sincerely appreciate it.Its just a matter of time until the penny drops and things should start to sound alot better.Thank you so much for giving me your time and feedback.RegardsDomingo

Re: Feedback for Down under please
Hi again Domingo, I listened to "Lost World Valley" just now. I really like this song a lot, it's got a lot going for it musically. Some nice chord changes. First thing that hit me regarding improvements is to lighten up the reverb quite a bit and move the vocal forward. I had a hard time hearing a lot of the words because of the reverb. (But I am listening on headphones!) Generally, I prefer a very light reverb and I've been told that music for films/tv usually don't have much reverb. If anyone reading this has more to say on this...?Also Domingo, again, your voice is really strong and vibrant, but you need to be very careful to land on a note rather than sliding up to it. Very lovely song - many things to like!Georgie

Hi Georgie, thank you once again for the feedback regarding The Lost World Valley. Its a song I wrote and recorded during a the weekend. You made me laugh so much when you said that I need to nail the notes vocally and to be aware not to slide up to them, my partner Shereen has been telling me the same thing. You girls must be in co hoots. hahaha I really have to pay attention to that as I need to change the habit. I have not done a final mix on the song as I recordered it off the bat (as to speak). I will certainly play around with the reverb and try to clean and crisp the overall sound before I submit it to a listing.Once again thank you and look forward to more of your reviews.Warm Hugs DomingoSheringo.
