Please take a listen. I am open to all feedback and I'm looking better at my craft.

Lots of TRAP/HIP-HOP INSTRUMENTALS with MIDDLE-EASTERN flavor are needed by a leading Music Licensing Company with an excellent track record of placements outside of the U.S. market. This Company is distributed internationally by BMG, and they work with shows that air virtually everywhere in the world.
TAXI Tip: If you nail this pitch and land in this company's catalog, you might not have a lot of competition when supervisors and editors are searching for this genre. This is a great chance to be a standout in a potentially under-populated genre. Zig when everybody else zags. ;-)
Noteworthy: We've recently had several reports of LOTS of international placements for TAXI members who've signed with this company!
This Company is looking for Instrumentals in the general stylistic ballpark of the references below:
"Nahda" by Empe Beats
"NAMROD" by Absaroth
"SALAMAT" by ISKNDR

Hey man, you've definitely got the Arabic sounds down in these (I couldn't play the 2nd track though). And the tracks themselves are pretty bangin'.

However - they're not trap style hip hop. What you've got is more 90's / 2000's sounding, with the big stabs & chop sounds, and club style claps, and a nice robust overall sound. That's cool, but it's not modern trap, which is really defined by its booming 808 bass, tight hi hat patterns & runs, crisp snares & rolls. If I were you'd I'd still submit these as-is, because it might be that they listing company is just more interested in the Arabic sounds than the legitimacy of the hip hop style. But, if you've got time to crank out another one, try something at 70/140 bpm and get yourself an 808 plug-in, and maybe even plop down $30 on some modern trap drum sounds.

It's probably going to involve too much overhaul to take what you've already made and turn them into "trap", as that would involve big tempo changes of over 20 bpm, and an overhaul on the drums. So, again, submit these as-is and see where they fall. They DO sound very nice, so you may get lucky just on that alone.

Keep us posted!

~~Matt

Hey Matt,

I wrote another cue in the Middle Eastern style Hip Hop. Please let me know if style and sound is getting closer. I'm here to get better and I appreciate your insight.
Thanks again,

James

This Company is looking for Instrumentals in the general stylistic ballpark of the references below:
"Nahda" by Empe Beats
"NAMROD" by Absaroth
"SALAMAT" by ISKNDR
Although one of the references has some vocals, please submit Instrumentals only for this pitch.
NOTE: This Company is open to a wide range of Hip-Hop styles, and sub-genres, such as Trap, Grime, LoFi, Drill, etc. Submissions with a tasteful blend of Middle-Eastern motifs/instrumentation and solid Hip-Hop production will go a really long way in helping get this Company's attention!
Please submit a wide range of original Hip-Hop Instrumentals with lots of Middle-Eastern sounds and culturally rich motifs! Your submissions should have hard-hitting beats, solid productions, and dynamic arrangements with lots of forward motion and interest. Traditional Middle Eastern instrumentation (such as oud, qanun, ney, darbuka, riq, saz, etc) mixed with modern Hip Hop beats will work best. Please make sure that any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality and genre-appropriate.
Hint: Overdubbing one or two organic instruments on top of your virtual sounds can go a very long way in making your tracks appealing and authentic-sounding!
Your submissions should be around 3 minutes in length, give or take, and definitely no shorter than 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.
Do NOT submit any tracks with spoken producer tags/watermarks as they are not usable for film and TV placements.
This Company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so please be sure the music you pitch for this opportunity is NOT already signed with other Companies or Catalogs. Specific deal points will be handled directly between you and the Company. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you'd like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Monday, August 5th, 2024.
