Feedback for Punk Song TAXI # S200217AW

Post by jacobotto » Sat Feb 15, 2020 11:49 am

Hi friends! This is my first post here on the forum and I'm super excited to join this community. I'd love any feedback you could give me on my song "I Will Stand Beside You" for this listing. It's not totally mixed, but I got everything tracked and wanted some last-minute feedback before I decide to submit.

Here's my Taxi page: https://www.taxi.com/members/jacobotto

Thank you!

The Music Publisher is currently looking for a Song that would work well as a replacement for “I Fought The Law,” which is currently temped in:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AL8chWFuM-s

Quoting the Music Publisher: “They like 'I Fought The Law' by The Clash for the scene, but they would prefer something more modern, with the same ENERGY."

Please submit top-notch, Punk Rock Songs with authentic Rock instrumentation, a killer rhythm section, great melodies, and really solid choruses. Vocal Performances should be energetic, compelling, and in the general ballpark of the reference above.

TAXI Tip: Although “Hey Now” was not a reference given to us by the client, we think this is a more modern example of the energy and vibe they’re looking for:

LYRICS: They're definitely NOT trying to match the lyrics of "I Fought the Law," just the energy of the Song. Avoiding references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands and profanity might give you some edge, but we don’t think it's an absolute necessity.

Hey Jacob! Nice stuff. Sounds great!

Maybe you could check the vocal level at really low volume. I think you could get a more consistent level esp @ 1:47. 2nd pre and chorus.

Arrangement wise my taste would be to simplify the drums at 1:47 to 1:59 and stick to the same pattern as the first bar.

I couldn't quite catch the last few words from the first line of the song. Is it breathe in this space "we land"?

Good luck with it.

PS: don't be afraid to jump in on peer to peer and return the favour for other members tracks too. You sound like you could have some insights of your own to offer. :)

Lester thank you so much for the super helpful feedback! I'm going to make some changes based on your feedback and maybe I'll have time before bed, maybe I'll just submit based on your feedback. I really appreciate it!

I will certainly throw in my two cents on some other tracks!
