Re: Feedback please "Business of Misery"
I have been away for 10 days, so thanks for everyone's input. This was a bit of an experiment on my part to see what comments it would garner. This song is a shortened rearranged version of Paramore's big hit "Misery Business". The drum parts are copied beat for beat and part for part. The sounds are modeled very much after the sounds on the original song. Part of what makes Paramore unique is their penchant for rhythmic complexity in a basically simple song. It is in the same key and I basically just changed the order of the chord changes. The "bridge" is also a copied section. It is about as close to the original song as is legal. This is the conundrum we all face in following the "alas" in the listings. Often the bands listed have almost nothing in common. So, a song that is very much like Paramore will not be very much like Vampire Weekend. To me, putting Vampire Weekend and Paramore in the same listing should mean that they are looking for a RANGE - all the way from Vampire Weekend to Paramore. They have totally different approaches to drum parts, guitar sounds, production, etc. So, when the reviewer listens to the songs submitted for this listing, which band will they have in mind? I don't know. As I said in my original post, this was aimed at the Paramore ala. Had I stylistically copied an Vampire Weekend song, it would have been very different from this one. If not for an unexpected trip last week, I was going to do one of each.Again, I appreciate everyone's input very much. It appears more of you thought of the Vampire Weekend end of the spectrum than the Paramore end. I have submitted the song as you heard it and will just keep my fingers crossed. ASIDE - I recently submitted 2 songs to 2 different but nearly identical listings. 1 reviewer forwarded only song 1 and the other forwarded only song 2. So the luck of the draw is a big player in forwards.Again, thanks to everybody and may The Muse bless all our efforts.Wodinlord

I'm not sure that the change at 1:35 fits in the track or not, it comes and goes so quickly but that's kind of the nature of film/tv music. The octave guitar there is cool. You might be able to get the gits a little bigger by changing the eq on one or both sides; sounds like one track that was doubled/panned hard and had some stereo imaging applied.cool piece thanks for posting iteRichThanks tele,Actually, there are 8 tracks for the main rhythm guitar part and I was concerned they might be too big.Wodinlord
