You've got some real interesting ideas there.Generally your songs are very good, as well as their arrangements. Areas to improve are at the production side, and vocals. The kind of songs that IMHO fits you the best, seems to be songs like "I can't stay here tonight", where your vocal sounds at its best. In the upper regions and the more up-tempo songs you tend to hold back a little, whereby you sound a little weak. But that's nothing a little technique practice, and a little patience won't fix (or maybe an isolated room). You seem to have a pretty good ear for what type of sounds are working or not, so there's really nothing I want to add.IMHO the sounds you choose are right on the money. They only need to be captured and recorded properly, but that will also just take some practice, and I'm sure you will sort that out over time. The question is a bit too general to answer in only a few words, so my only advice at this time is to, keep up the good work, practice on the engineering, get some vocal training, and be sturdy.Best of luck

Wow, thank you. You basically pinpointed exactly what I feel myself. I'm admittedly not a singer and record in my basement without any equipment (so, yes, there's room for improvement)... In your humble opinion... any of those songs have commercial potential in the hands of other artists?

Well, to be honest, I'm not an A&R guy. My knowledge (if any) is more in the production area.I'm only submitting to Film/TV listings and the critique I usually get is within the songwriting area, where I guess there is room for improvement for me. I can tell you what songs I like the best, but that will be just my opinion and a not an educated one. EyesI can't stay here tonightComing of ageThere's an interview with Dennis de Young (Singer and Keyboardist in Styx) on Youtube, where he shares some interesting thoughts about songwriting:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrnJJmDqe5oHope the url works

Wow, that was a great little interview and DeYoung comes across as a really sharp guy. I loved the bits about KNOWING when you've done something special, and the difference about worrying about somebody else's opinion and just seeking validation. Thanks a lot for your insights.
