FEMALE SINGER-SONGWRITER-type SONGS

Post by sedge » Fri Jun 24, 2011 12:22 pm

Hi all , slightly trying to bend my head round this,

... any one any ideas what exactly makes a 'FEMALE SINGER-SONGWRITER-type SONG' uniquely different from a
'MALE SINGER-SONGWRITER-type SONG' ?
FEMALE SINGER-SONGWRITER-type SONGS a la Sara Bareilles, Kate Nash, Ingrid Michaelson, etc., needed by an Independent Publisher to pitch to high-profile TV/Film and Media projects. All tempos are welcome, but your songs must reflect a CONTEMPORARY sound. (Listen to the artists referenced in the listing for style.) Your lyrics should be universal in nature, but at the same time, have a unique and captivating perspective. You want to pull the audience in and make a scene musically memorable. Male or Female vocals are okay. You must own 100% of your master recording and composition. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Friday, July 22, 2011. TAXI #S110722SS

Thanks loads if you can shed any light,

Sedge

Didn't you listen to the ala's? Just kidding. Uhm, do the ala's sing about spiderman and frogs in their pockets? I don't think I would go with the sugar and spice and everything nice until you at least find out that they don't ride Harley's. ;)
