First Forums Post - Need Some Guidance on Genre

Post by PoCoYo » Tue Mar 16, 2021 1:26 pm

Hello!

My name is Gina, this is my first Forums post and I'm so excited that I've found an avenue to place the music that my partners and I have created.

The music we write I believe can fit any genre of music but, I know that's not the way it works. Is there anyone here who can give me some guidance on what genre they're hearing in the first two tracks from the Soundcloud link below? This is my project called "SmoothIvory II" and we have an idea of where we could fit in one specific genre (which one?) but would like some feedback from anyone here that hears other styles incorporated in our music.

I would appreciate any assistance here and really hope you enjoy what I write.

Thank you and please let me know any thoughts!

Best,
Gina

I'm hearing adult contemporary R&B. Nice work!

Well - I'm probably your oldest newest fan. :? :P
"I Wanna Be The One" sounds ready to be a movie, with this as the title and main theme - playing out at the conclusion.
It stirs up images of a romantic story - something like "Pretty Woman".
