Quite happy to have something forwarded in my first month as a Taxi subscriber! I submitted several songs from my existing solo project the last few weeks and although the critiques were all quite favorable none of the tracks were specifically tailored enough to the listings I was submitting to. Over the weekend I decided I would try to write a song specifically for a listing, record it at home in a day and see if that fared better. It did!

UPBEAT ROCK SONGS are U-R-G-E-N-T-L-Y needed by a Music Supervisor working on HIT TV Show. He’s desperately searching for ROCKIN’, Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs with Male vocals that could be found on the same playlist as bands like The Rolling Stones, The Black Crows, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, etc. Check out theses songs to help wrap your head around the general sound, tone, and feel that could work for this pitch: “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” by The Rolling Stones “Jealous Again” by The Black Crows “American Girl” by Tom Petty They need energetic songs with plenty of Rock swagger and attitude. Big guitar riffs on top of a powerful rhythm section will help you hit this target. Quoting the Music Supervisor: “I need undeniable Rock songs that could light up any party. The kind of songs with loose energy, heavy soul, and swagger all wrapped into one kick-ass performance. I want songs with Classic sounding Rock riffs like you’d hear from the Stones, Petty, or the Black Crows. It’s okay if your riffs are obvious, as long as they capture the spirit of this style of Rock N’ Roll!” Your song should sound like it’s been performed by a real band. Please do NOT submit anything that’s stiff or MIDI-sounding. Universal lyrics are needed. Steer clear of references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands, etc. Lyric themes are pretty wide open for this pitch. Overall, the Rockin’ vibe of your song, and the feel of the instrumentation is more important than the specific lyrics. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).
