Hey Mazz,Thanks so much for the feedback and the great observations. I've been listening to this over and over while I work on it and think I am at a point where some of the things that need fine tuning are lost on my ears. I will definitely give the velocities a closer look and see if I can tighten some of that up.I've also heard the feedback from a friend that he was expecting more of a big finish in the second half of the tune. I'm not quite sure how to get there yet, but it gives me a great idea on what I need to be working at.Anyways, it's much appreciated.Best wishes to you,Tim

Tim, this is a wonderful piece. Definitely has a Danny Elfman flavor to it. I love the music box and the interweaving lines in the first part. The middle section could build in dynamics a bit more and I like the abrupt transition going to the next section. Overall this is really well done. Mazz already made some technical comments regarding midi editing that I think are pertinent.Looking forward to hearing more from you!Steve

A few well placed timpani rolls and concert bass drum hits always give some impact. Also, in Stylus in the Sound Menus, there is one called Cinematic that has some giant impact hits in it. Those are always effective!! WHAM!!!!Have fun!!Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Great Job Tim!!! Mazz seems to have broken it down very well as usual. I agree with his comments. But don't lose what you got here!! Save it!! Back the session up to CD or DVD or something -you never know what kind of gremlins are going around and Murphy has visited me on more than one occasion lately. Thanks for the listen,Kitz

Tim,To link to your tune you can go to the My Music page on Taxi and run your mouse over the play button for the song you want to upload. Note the bottom left corner of your browser has a line like javascript:playSong("/stream/204375/Caught by the Current.mp3","Caught by the Current");in your post you can have the song stream from taxi by including the line:http://www.taximusic.com/stream/204375/ ... .mp3Notice the spaces in the title are replaced with their ascii equivalent %20.
