First Post to Taxi, Your review is very welcome
Greetings all! This is my first post to this forum. I have been recording my inspiration for the past year. There are three of my songs posted on myspace. I would certainly appreciate your feedback. These songs were chosen because they show a spectrum of style, however, I have much more music recorded or half recorded that goes even further.www.myspace.com/matthewjhoffmanThank you for your consideration. Ain't life grand!!!!?!Warmest Regards, Matthew

Re: No turning back, I'm hook on song writing
Arkjack,Glad you could make it over. The first song was inspired by a simple melody from the end of Super Mario 2. When I was 10 years old I would beat the game just so I could listen to the end melody. I would lay there and listen to it for an hour at a time. To me a melody embodies an emotion or mood. I could really connect to that melody. Matthew

This forum doesn't have much activity. Do people use it much or are songs usually reviewed elsewhere?

That simple melody is cannon in D..... Keep posting .... as folks get to know you they'll comment... I 've found that you'll get two to three comments on a tune, and always helpful.... If you really want to start some posting activity,....... start a thread on your politics or religion,.... or take a mean shot at a screener..... or just jump in on a hot thread that's already cooking ....Best of luckArkJack

That chord progression is continued through the rest of the song, but takes quite a big melody divergence.

To put it this way, if the song had not been in the public domain the makers of Super Mario 2 would have had a copyright infringement lawsuit on their hands. They did take the song into another direction but to say that they only grabbed some influence would be a gross understatement.
