Flare E-Prototype
Last week, I won a set of Flare E-Prototype earphones on Taxi TV. They arrived yesterday along with a complimentary set of Flare Pro earphones. I spent a couple of hours with them last night. Here is my initial reaction: They are wonderful! Perhaps the thing that stands out the most is the panning.
I will return with additional thoughts on the E-Prototype earphones.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Flare E-prototype.
And when you say the Flare pro, are you talking about the Calmer Pro series?

I compared them to a pair of Bose earbuds and a pair of Audio Technica closed back headphones. These are what I typically use in the studio. I also check mixes using avpair of Samsung earbuds that comes with a Galaxy smartphone.

I've used the Flare E-prototype for the better part of a week. They offer the most definition of any playback system that I'm aware of. I hear everything with great clarity. They're very comfortable to wear.
Yes, I meant the Calmer Pro series. I let my wife try them out. She has sensitive hearing. She hasn't worn them for any extended period of tume yet.

Re: Flare E-Prototype
I am using them throughout my mixing process. I start by setting track volume and panning with them. The clarity that they produce in hearing panning positions is unparalleled. Then I switch to a pair of Audio Technica closed-back headphones for EQ'ing and setting effects. In time, I will probably use the Flare for this as well. After that is accomplished, I use a set of Event near field monitors and Flare earphones to proof and finalize the mix.funsongs wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 8:44 amThank you; I'm very interested too.LamarPecorino wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 11:10 amLast week, I won a set of Flare E-Prototype earphones on Taxi TV. Seems like a great tool! For now though, I'm gonna stick to my slate VSX setup. I paid too much for it already so I'm gonna use the heck out of it lol. I think it works great!
