Hi - please ignore this post! I am simply trying to find the best way to see what others will see when they click on my name (assuming anyone wants to!), so thought this might work. I will introduce myself properly once I have got my head around all of this!

Hi everybody. :D
I'm also a newbie.
This forum is great. Thanks for all the newbie advice.

I am not yet a member of TAXI but I have been reading material on the TAXI home page and watching some of Michael's video interviews.
I created bullet point overview notes for 3 of those videos:
The Ronan Chris Murphy interview, Six Figure TAXI Members Interviewed and TV and Film Trailers.
I created them in "TEXTEDIT" on my Mac. They are in RTF format.
If anyone is interested in seeing them I would be happy to upload them to the Forum.
I just don't know how to upload them or where to put them.
Members could edit them , add to them, make corrections if they want if there is a way to do that.
Every one of those interviews contains a lot of great content.
I intend to watch as many more of them as I possibly can.

I have been dabbling in writing all sorts of music on both my PC and MAC for several years just for fun.
I learned about TAXI several years ago but I never really checked it out because I was working full time,
long hours, and so I really didn't have the mindset to get professional about writing music back then.
Now I am retired and loving the idea of the TAXI community and of writing professionally.

Thanks again to everyone in this community,
You are all a veritable library of great information and I am looking forward to making lots of friends
and eventually saving up and joining TAXI. :D

Hello Hummingbird

Thank you for taking the time to list protocol for the forum.

I have never really become part of a forum like this and I'm sure I will stumble along the way but your guidelines were a good start to begin navigating my way through.

After attending the Road Rally I decided I need to get in and participate like the successful members are doing. I have been a TAXI member for a long time but was reluctant to get on the forum and become more active.

Taking the plunge!

Thanks, Bill

Thanks everyone for the very helpful info.

I'm totally new to this, it's my first reply, so
Helloooooooooooo.

I've recently joined Taxi, I'm British but moved last year to the South West corner of Ireland with my wife and son. Nothing between where we live and the USA except the Wild Atlantic Ocean. It's spectacular, come visit, really, we've got a spare room. Lots of Americans come here to find their ancestral roots.

I write songs in a few different styles, I'll post some up on the forums when I've got the hang of it all, my songs can be quite quirky. Do you get much call for more British sounding music? And is it a problem if I submit country songs with my British accent? I guess I could fake an American accent, but unless it's as good as Hugh Laurie's then you might just guess and laugh.

I also write new age music instrumentals and have been experimenting with the feel of Brian Eno's sparse tunes. If my accent or quirky singing style is a problem then maybe I should aim for instrumental listings?

OK, it's getting late now over here, I'll be back to check out on all of you soon.

Cheers, mine's a Guinness.

[quote="hummingbird"]Hi folks, I've noticed we seem to be getting a fair number of new forum members (and some new Taxi members). I was new here once and didn't know the ropes, and some very kind people accepted me into the group and let me know how things work.

Thanks so much, I've already learned to change my signature. (It didn't work if there's nothing below this sentence!

Hello,

Not really new have been a member before and re applied.

I attended the rally in 2011, and will be there again this year and cannot wait. I will make better use of it this time.

Background in Bass, Fiddle/Violin, Trap set. Have played in many bands in many styles. Glenn Miller to ZZ Top to George Strait.

My writing flows through all these styles.

Looking forward to meeting many of you this November.
