Forward > AMERICANA SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a U.K. Music Licensing Company

Got a forward for an Americana listing, pretty happy with that, as I am an Australian/Irish man :)

This is the song - https://soundcloud.com/user-990306235/a ... PPfusbvVaZ

"A Lot of AMERICANA SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a U.K. Music Licensing Company with GREAT Worldwide Distribution and lots of awesome placements in Film and TV.

The client is looking for a whole bunch of Songs in All Tempos that would fall within the general stylistic ballpark of the following examples:

"Blue Ridge Mountain" by Hurray for the Riff Raff

"High Water (for Charley Patton)" by Bob Dylan

"Wagon Wheel" by Old Crow Medicine Show

IMPORTANT NOTE: This Company has a high bar and they tend to gravitate toward music that “sounds like releasable commercial Songs” rather than material that sounds like it came from a "typical music library." Also, this company is only interested in signing material from composers who have worked with libraries and licensing companies in the past, and understand how standard deals work. If you don't have that experience and you don't know the drill on typical deals, then they politely ask that you don't submit to this request.

Please submit top-notch Americana Songs with engaging rhythms, solid melodies, and excellent musicianship. Your production should be generally competitive with the references and other artists like them. We think it'd be wise to stick with typical rootsy, organic "Americana" instrumentation and avoid submitting anything that sounds synthetic. Authenticity is key for nailing this request, so if you decide to use any software instruments or samples, they need to be high-quality and convincing. The more your music sounds like it's being performed by real musicians playing real instruments, the better. Honest, well-performed vocals could help you seal the deal!

Lyric Tip: A huge part of the Americana genre is themes and topics about the "American experience," so keep that in mind when you are crafting your lyrics.

Lyrics that avoid specific names, places, dates, times, brands and profanity could give you an added edge. Do not copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Broadcast Quality is needed."

Congratulations, Ian! Great construction and performance, and you got the accent spot on!

Merry :)

PS, I went off to do some dishes and your song is stuck in my head... Good job!

Thanks Merry, groovy that its in your head, but that was not me singing, I mostly get other people to play and sing on my songs these days, I am not as good as I should be to be competitive :)
