forward for Jazz Song

Post by hummingbird » Mon Nov 27, 2006 10:51 am

Hi - I'm pleased to say that Matt & I received our first forward on our 'a la Norah Jones' composition. Cool!A wide range of smooth, warm, relaxed, radio quality-sounding JAZZ SONGS & INSTRUMENTALS a la Norah Jones, Brad Mehldau, Rhian Ayana, Natalie Cole, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Chris Botti, Diana Krall, Bob Baldwin, etc. are needed by a new Music Library run by two library industry pros. They have existing relationships with music supervisors for shows/films on ABC, NBC, the CW, HBO, Disney, MGM, Sony, Fox, Paramount + many others. Great lyrical hooks & performances are a must. They offer a non-exclusive contract [they re-title your song & you keep the copyright]. They wish to launch their company/site by early 2007, hence they need material ASAP. Broadcast quality needed [excellent-sounding home recordings are OK]. TAXI # D061121JZ

Yes, congrats! When do we get to hear this masterpiece? I was fortunate enough to have TWO songs forwarded for this listing (and a third for the same company in a different genre)...nya nya! The forwards were balanced out by three rejections for the same company in other genres, but I'm still stoked. I'm actually even more curious to hear your piece since we all three got forwarded...there's surely something to learn about the screeners' processes by hearing the pieces. However, if you're concerned about public exposure we'll understand.Andre

I would like to hear those tunes as well. I was thinking of submitting on those listings and decided to pass because I don't know where my material sits on the quality scale. Aural comparisson would be enlightening.....ArkJack
