FORWARD ON MY FIRST SUBMISSION!

Post by iplaydatmusic » Mon Nov 18, 2019 8:26 pm

Ok well, I need to qualify that title a little bit! I joined taxi once like 15 years ago, but I didn't stay long and got busy with life and all...Anyway, I just rejoined a few months ago after a long break from Taxi (but not from music necessarily), and my first submission was for "Reimagined 70 Songs". And it got forwarded!

Here's a Box link of the tune I submitted, "Hot Stuff". Thanks for listening!

https://app.box.com/s/7ydtbt69mkscr1c3e ... 3421964624

Here's the submission description:

Y191005CV

REIMAGINED COVERS of Well-Known Songs from the 1970s are needed by a successful Los Angeles-based Production Music Library for upcoming sync licensing opportunities.

They are in search of SONGS in:
• Any Genre
• Any Tempo
• with Male, Female, or Duet Vocals

Please take a listen to the following references they gave us to get a general idea of the type of approach you can take for this request:

“American Woman" by Lenny Kravitz

"Give a little bit" by Goo Goo Dolls

"Killing Me Softly" by Fugees

"Baby, I love your way" by Big Mountain

NOTE: Your Covers can come from genres such as Pop, Rock, Adult Contemporary, Blues, Singer/Songwriter, R&B/Soul, Folk, Rap/Hip-Hop, Country, etc. Whichever genre or sub-genre you’re pitching, be sure your submissions have genre-appropriate instrumentation and production.

Please submit creative Covers of popular Songs from the 1970s that are rhythmically, vocally, and melodically awesome from start to finish. Stay as close to the original lyric and melody as possible so the root of the song is recognizable. Having a compelling vocal performance with a strong, confident delivery could also help your Songs stand out for this pitch!

NOTE: You don’t have to use all of the Song’s original melody, but the Song should be recognizable. If you stray too far away from the original melody or lyric, your Cover may not be as appealing.

Broadcast Quality is needed.

This Company offers EXCLUSIVE 50/50 deals. You must own or control your Master to submit to this opportunity, and the material you submit cannot be signed to any other deals. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI A&R person who has been handpicked by the Founder of the Music Library – Short critiques only. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Saturday, October 5th, 2019. TAXI #Y191005CV

Way to go! Cool how that song transfers to another genre.

I sat next to you at one of the Ballroom sessions! Looking at your card now. Cool.
