Forward - TAXI # S210106FR - Folk Rock

Post by johnnyrowing » Wed Jan 27, 2021 1:04 pm

Hello everyone,
I am happy to report a forward on the recent Folk Rock listing! I submitted 3 and 1 got a forward. It is called Baby On a Train.

Here's hoping that the client digs it. :)

https://www.taxi.com/members/johnnyrowing

Here's the listing:

Several FOLK ROCK INSTRUMENTALS and/or INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a NEW Music Library started by a successful Editor for Major TV shows that loves the music they've been getting from TAXI Members!

NOTE: We previously ran this request as TAXI Dispatch Listing #D201115FR, but the Library wants to hear MORE material. If you submitted to listing #D201115FR, please send different material this time around.

Note: This company has already signed music from dozens of TAXI members, and they need a lot more to fill up their catalog!

Because this is a new company, they're essentially building their full stash of Instrumentals (and/or Cues) that could fit on a playlist with the references below:

"Is A Light Ever Lost" by Dustin Tebbutt

"C Sections and Railway Trestles" by The Avett Brothers

"She Lit a Fire" by Lord Huron

Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumentals (and/or Cues) only for this pitch.

Send them top-tier, well-produced Instrumentals (or Cues) with great musicianship, inviting melodies and rhythms, and a heaping amount of Folk Rock charm! We think typical, organic-based Folk Rock Instrumentation is the way to go for this request. If you are using any virtual instruments, be sure that they're super high-quality and don't sound stiff, obviously MIDI-driven, or overly quantized. Layering a few real instruments over the virtual ones might help your pieces sound more authentic!

All submissions should be about 2 to 4 minutes long for Instrumentals and roughly 90 seconds to 2 minutes for Cues, give or take. Non-Faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, texture, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

This company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 deal. They’ll get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll keep 100% of the Writer’s share. This is a gratis library where the artist and publisher are paid through PROs only – Not unusual...actually, very common these days, especially for Reality TV Shows. You must own or control your Master and Copyright. Please submit as many Instrumentals and/or Instrumental Cues as you'd like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PST) on Wednesday, January 6th, 2021. TAXI # S210106FR

Thank you Michael and Sharon. :)

I'm holding out hope too - and lifting prayers up too. :) It'd be nice to be able to celebrate finally taking that "next step".

I appreciate you taking the time to rejoice with me. Taxi folks understand what a forward means. :)

Thank you Dave. Yes - rooting for that placement! Even getting something signed would be a reason for a "dinner-out". :)

You never know . . . I've heard many stories of some "late signings". :) So, hope lives on.

However, no contact from a library for this forward. So, looks like a forward will the be the end of the road for this particular cue - for now at least.

Glad to have the forward - gonna celebrate and enjoy the small steps in this journey.
