Forwards, forwards, forwards...

Well, it's been nearly a year since I joined Taxi, Oct 08, and I got my first forward back on Nov 1, 2008. I've had 25 more forwards since then. I've submitted to 4 more listings of late that I expect will get me another few forwards but to date, there aren't any checks in the mail that I know of. I'm a bit frustrated but I guess I should be thankful. I'm assuming the music is actually getting heard by someone at these libraries and music supervisors. I guess it could happen, eventually, that someone will want to use my music somewhere. I should try to be more patient.I write fingerstyle acoustic guitar solos

Hang in there, be patient and keep working. It took me about 4 years before I got my first deal.

Thanks guys. You know how it is though. I, like all of us, want this to happen so bad but I should be more patient. Keep writing, keep submitting, keep hoping... I guess the fact that I've had so many forwards already should be a sign that it might actually happen one day.

I got a lot of forwards my first year, but it took 3 years to get my first deal.If you're getting a lot of forwards, you're doing something right.Hang in there.Mazz

Yeah, I'm in the same boat (and a bit impatient). That being said, I'm realizing it is mostly a matter of time (if your music is happening). I signed with my first library about a month ago, and sent a ton of tunes for him to check out! This came from one of my first forwards about the same time as your first forward. These guys are busy, so it just takes time!-Mark

Well, I renewed my Taxi subscription today and was rewarded with my 27th forward! I'll keep submitting to listings, keep plugging away...

Good on you!Maybe it is just a matter of time, but I know there's a fair amount of luck involved. Your music has to be good enough and it's got to be what they're looking for to begin with...at least with Taxi, I feel like someone's actually listening to it!
