Forwards @ Returns

Post by jvfade » Sat Mar 09, 2013 2:28 am

Recently I have submitted my music track for case #U130306CH, but unfortunately received "Return" with a short reason: "I feel that some of the sounds are a little bit outdated."

Don't you think it would be great to know who the winner of each competition? We could listen to it, discuss it and it will bring more life to the forum itself.
I see that some members open a new topic to let others to know about their success. That is great!
I personally would like to hear the music, which got "Forward" for the case #U130306CH.
Recently found one website, where you can listen to every single track, which was submitted and it shows the winner as well.
In my opinion, we should have here something similar, don't you think so?

By the way, here is my submission to case #U130306CH

Don't judge the singer please, she is not a professional singer and I recorded her for demo purposes only. :)

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

heh,

no, you didnt post anything wrong; but I think this topic has been discussed in one of the other categories and if Im not mistaken there was a reason given for why taxi cant post up other peoples stuff without their permission or some such.

think there was a general agreement that it would be nice though.

Hi there Fuad. Not sure if you're looking for feedback on the issue of Taxi revealing a list of "forwards" to everyone who submitted to a particular listing, or if you want feedback on your song.

As for Taxi posting a list and links to the songs that were forwarded for each listing, that particular topic has been brought up many times, both on the forums and on Taxi TV. You can probably do a search and find the rationale here on these forums, but it does have a lot to do with copyrights and artist permission. In other words, I can write on this discussion board about any of my songs that were forwarded, but Taxi doesn't have the right to share my music because it's not their property. There's a longer explanation out there, but that's the gist of it.

As for your song "Magic Choo Choo Train", I think you had a good idea and good start, but the vocals were what lost it for me. I know you said not to be harsh on the vocals because you recorded this song for "demo purposes"... Well, Fuad, this listing was looking for finished products, not works-in-progress. So if the vocals are rough, you'll get a return every time. For the most part, anything you submit needs to be hitting on all cylinders, as rough demos just don't get deals in this business. But I think if you found another singer (someone with no accent), you might have something valuable with this song.

Hey Jv,

I'll respond with " the melody " is very hooky , and though you ask not to judge the singer, but that alone can be the return as your pitching to a listing request that will listen to the first 5 seconds and realize the lyrics arent coming across because of pronounciation on some words.
You can save the song by update the sounds to more of a children " organic " possibly act gtr ukelele " bells " acoustic piano instead of " elec piano.

Thank you all for your feedbacks.
I was thinking that publisher needs the song, not the final work.
Anyway, will try to make those changes.
